The C9090M MATRIX handheld controller has been developed to enable the training officer to have direct control over live fire close combat training exercises.

Training exercises are compiled on a PC using Militec’s MATRIX software.

An exercise can include any of Militec’s target mechanisms together with a variety of distraction devices and triggers.

Exercises can either be activated by the instructor as the trainees progresses through, or the trainees will trigger devices that have been placed in selected locations prior to the commencement of the session.

The devices could include infra-red beams, the breaking of which will trigger the appearance of a target which could be hostile or non-hostile.

Pressure mats too could trigger noise distraction, such as a dog barking, baby crying or screaming. Smoke could also be deployed to cause disorientation.

In short, many realistic scenarios can be created to provide trainees with the best possible preparation for real life situations.
